Lovell FHCC to commemorate anniversary of Vietnam War - The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) will honor Vietnam War Veterans with a special commemoration March 29 at the federal health care center in North Chicago, Ill. Lovell FHCC is the nation’s only federal health care center. It integrates health care services of the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense to care for military members and their families, military retirees and Veterans in Northeast Illinois and Southeast Wisconsin. The FHCC, VA, Department of Defense and thousands of other organizations across the country are joining together in the U.S. Vietnam War Commemoration to honor Vietnam Veterans throughout 2016, to mark the 50th anniversary of the war. Call for Veteran artists, performers to enter Creative Arts Festival; Performers already rehearsing - NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. – The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) will hold its annual Veterans Creative Arts Festival March 10, 2016 at the College of Lake County to highlight the artwork, creative writing and musical talents of area Veterans. Veterans enrolled for care at any FHCC’s facility may enter in art, music, dance and writing categories. Art categories are painting; sculpture; drawing; photography; wood, leather and model kits, and pottery. Performance categories include dance (including wheelchair dance), drama (including comedy), solo and group vocal and instrumental acts, vocal original compositions, and special recognition. Veterans also may submit creative writing entries. The deadline is Feb. 19. Rehearsals have started! (01/27/2016)

Lovell FHCC offering flu shots Oct. 22 and Oct. 29 at Kenosha Community Based Outpatient Clinic - NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. – The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center is offering free flu vaccinations Thursday, Oct. 22 and Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Kenosha, Wis. Community Based Outpatient Clinic. For the first time, the Kenosha walk-in flu shot clinics will be available to active duty military, active duty adult family members, and adult TriCare beneficiaries as well as military retirees and eligible Veterans. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recently published the interim final rule for implementing the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act 2010.
